Are Friends Electric? is the name of one of my favorite songs, which was recorded in 1979 by Gary Numan. I’m not entirely sure how I arrived at this name for my blog, but I think it has something to do with the perfect mix of music and technology — which happen to be two of my favorite pastimes. I explore these pastimes, along with other pop-culture and lifestyle-related hobbies, in this blog.
I am a teacher, a student, a wife and a mother to the greatest dog in the world. I love to write but do far too little of it, a problem I’m attempting to remedy by keeping this blog. I used to consider myself a pop-culture know-it-all, but I have trouble keeping up these days because I hate Twilight, I can’t stand most reality TV and all those Disney stars make me want to vomit. Except Zac Efron. He’s dreamy.
I love to learn new things, especially when I’ve traveled to a faraway place to do it. I love to spend time with people who are smarter and more interesting than me, so that I can glean from them a whole new way to look at the world. I love to run, but I also love to nap. I love to eat great food and drink great wine, and I most enjoy those things when I’m with great company.
