on being a dancing machine

Just came across this delightful mashup of dancing in the movies from a blog called Lindsy in the city. I will no doubt watch it a few more times, as the only thing I like more than singing in a movie is dancing in a movie. I have no idea how someone has the time to be able to synchronize so many disparate movie clips/scenes to one song but I sure am glad people do, so that I can watch them.

I love that Jamie Lee Curtis is featured in two roles, the aerobicizing nightmare that is Perfect and her sexy housewife striptease in True Lies. And don’t think I missed that smidge of a clip from Airplane! But the most pleasant surprise for me was the inclusion of clips from Strictly Ballroom, a Baz Luhrmann-directed Australian gem of a movie that I could quite literally watch every day of my life. In fact, I’m going to see if I can stream it on Netflix right now…

Enjoy the clip — may it put a little spring in your step for your Tuesday.
